Association 'Les Amis de Monflanquin' in partnership with the Mairie of Monflanquin and GEM Arts Plastiques present Monflanquin Festival of Arts and Heritage.

Festival dates: 22nd & 23rd June 2019

On Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd of June 2019 the second Monflanquin Festival of Arts and Heritage will take place. Artistic exhibition spaces, both 'pop up' and permanent, plus a variety of other attractions will be present in the heart of the bastide of Monflanquin.

Don't miss this opportunity to be part of the second Monflanquin Festival of Arts and Heritage. The organizers of the Festival (the association 'Les Amis de Monflanquin') are once again working in collaboration with the Mairie of Monflanquin and GEM Arts Plastiques to celebrate the art of the area and more.

A weekend in which both public buildings and some residents of Monflanquin will open their doors to the public as 'pop-up' temporary galleries offering artist's work for sale plus workshops, courses, music and activities for children, offering a great family day out.

We welcome all those who produce their own works such as paintings, printing, photography, textiles, ceramics, jewellery and handicrafts.

Visitors will be able to explore the streets and Carrérots to visit the pop-up galleries and also be able to participate in a varied program of art and crafts. Heritage also plays an important role in the life of the village and will be featured in events and exhibitions throughout the weekend.

We are sure that 2018's festival, through the use of unusual exhibition venues, helped artists reach a new audience and make art more accessible to all.

Food and drink will be offered by the restaurants and bars of the village.

Registration is now open to participate in this second year of this successful event.

As the exhibition spaces in public buildings are limited and assigned in the order of registration, do not hesitate to register as soon as possible if you want to be sure to get a place if you have not found it on your own. Priority will be given to artists who participated in 2018 who register before 31st December 2018.

There is no selection procedure, the only condition is that participants must produce/create their own products. The festival receives no outside funding and is entirely self-financing. It is run by volunteers who make no charge for their time. In order to cover the costs of publicity, posters, flyers, signage and a full colour printed programme a small charge is made to artists who are not residents of Monflanquin. Registration for artists is now open and closes on May 1st, 2019. If you wish to exhibit in 2019, please read all the information for artists here. If possible, please try to find a exhibition space for yourself to be sure of participating. The organizers have some public and private spaces available for artists. The festival is a non-profit event, any funds remaining at the end of the festival will be used for future festivals or other local actions.

Calling the inhabitants of Monflanquin

We are appealing again to the inhabitants of Monflanquin in the heart of the Bastide (inside the Tour de Ville), "Open your doors and make beautiful things happen!. Host an artist at home, offer them an exhibition space in your living room or host them in a guest room or garage. You will have the choice of artist and will be able to contact them directly to agree how you will operate.

If you are an artist and live in the commune of Monflanquin, register and participate for free at the Festival (of course a gift is always welcome). We welcome all those who produce their own works such as paintings, prints, photographs, textiles, ceramics, jewellery and handicrafts.

Call for Volunteers

To improve the success of this festival, we need volunteers for a variety of large and small tasks. For many tasks, fluent French is not needed! If you would like to see about helping us, come and meet us on Saturday 24th of November from 11am at the Bar des Arcades to get acquainted and get an idea of tasks to be done.
